Since 2017, MAISON MESTRAL has been creating interiors shaped for the people who live, work and travel in them.
Our founder, Riia, carries the vision of Maison Mestral, with her associate Alice, director of production. Surrounded by a team of international women, combining creativity, responsiveness and a real sense of listening.
From residential to hospitality, retail, tertiary spaces and yachting, every project is approached as a new challengewith its own identity, its own constraints and its own story.
Because sometimes, it’s not only about recreating a place our clients dream of.
It’s about bringing its essence on board creating a sense of home, wherever the journey takes them - even at sea.
Maison Mestral is based in the south of France, but its story begins in Finland. That is where our founder Riia grew up and studied, first business and then interior design. From the start, her work combined creative vision with a practical sense of how to run a project.
She then began her career with a large company in Helsinki designing for hospitality and high-end private clients, in its division for cruiseships interiors where she took her first steps in the nautical world.
From those early years, she has always kept one foot on land and one at sea. Her path then led her through England and finally to the south of France. Here she founded Maison Mestral with one guiding idea: that interiors should, above all, serve the well-being of the people who live in them. A beautiful space is not enough. It has to feel good.

Maison Mestral is run by a team of eight people.
Three of us are dedicated to design and project management. We are the ones who turn a first conversation into drawings, mood boards and eventually, a space that feels exactly right. We also make sure ideas become reality: on time, on budget and to the standard our clients expect.
Around this core team, we have built a wide community of trusted partners over the years: architects, engineers, naval architects, craftspeople, suppliers and specialists in every field a project might need. These are people we know, have worked with many times and can rely on completely. It means that however complex or unusual a project is, we can bring together the right expertise quickly, as one team working toward the same goal.
